Silica sand – basic raw material for the production of glass

Silica sand is the basic raw material used in the production of glass. Whether sheet or hollow glass, whether mineral fibre or glass silk, manufacturing glass without silica sand is not possible.

For more than 135 years, our silica sands have been applied in molten glass.

They are used to manufacture sheet glass, container glass, lighting glass or for fabricating glasses for the pharmaceutical industry.

The accurate wet-mechanical processing of the raw materials ensures a consistently high quality level. This applies both to the grain distribution and

to the chemical composition.
